Kanwar Yatra 2025: Glass Shards Disrupt Procession in Delhi’s Shahdara

As the holy month of Sawan commenced on Friday, the annual Kanwar Yatra pilgrimage is underway, with devotees traveling from Delhi to Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. While state police have implemented security measures for the safety of the Kanwariyas (pilgrims), an unfortunate incident has come to light in Delhi’s Shahdara district.

Minister Kapil Mishra Addresses Safety Concerns

Delhi Cabinet Minister Kapil Mishra addressed the issue, assuring that no disruptions to the pilgrimage will be tolerated. Taking to social media platform ‘X’, the BJP leader shared a concerning update: miscreants had scattered broken glass pieces along a kilometer-long stretch of the Kanwar Yatra route in Shahdara.

Authorities Investigating and Ensuring Devotee Safety

Minister Mishra and authorities are investigating the incident and working to ensure the safety and smooth passage of the Kanwariyas for the remainder of the pilgrimage. Further updates are expected as the situation develops.
