Chess Grandmaster Arjun Erigaisi Calls British Airways Experience “Worst Ever”

Top-ranked Indian chess prodigy, Arjun Erigaisi, recently shared a deeply disappointing experience with British Airways, describing it as the “worst” he’s ever encountered. The 21-year-old Grandmaster, currently seeded No. 1 for the upcoming FIDE Grand Swiss 2025, detailed a series of unfortunate events that marred his journey.

Involuntary Downgrade, Unresponsive Staff Add to Travel Woes

Erigaisi recounted an involuntary downgrade, leaving him feeling frustrated and disregarded. Adding to the ordeal, he reported unresponsive staff who seemed indifferent to his concerns. This lack of assistance only amplified the negative experience.

Baggage Delays Compound Frustration for Chess Star

To further compound the issues, Erigaisi experienced baggage delays, adding another layer of inconvenience to his already stressful journey. The combination of the downgrade, unhelpful staff, and baggage problems left the young Grandmaster with a distinctly negative impression of the airline.
