Astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla’s Moving Farewell from ISS: “India Looks Magnificent from Space”

Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla, part of the Axiom-4 mission, delivered a touching farewell speech from the International Space Station (ISS) on Sunday, just before the crew’s scheduled return to Earth on Monday.

Shukla’s Emotional Tribute to India

Overflowing with pride for his nation, Shukla described India as appearing “full of ambition, fearless, confident, and full of pride” from his unique vantage point in space. He poignantly echoed the iconic words of India’s first astronaut, Rakesh Sharma, stating, “Even today, Bharat looks ‘saare jahan se accha’ from above,” – a phrase meaning “India is the best in the world.”

Axiom-4 Mission Concludes

Shukla’s heartfelt words came during a farewell ceremony for the Axiom-4 astronauts aboard the ISS. The crew is now preparing for their journey back to Earth, bringing an end to their mission.
