Drunk Driver Plows Audi into Sleeping Homeless, Injuring Five in Delhi’s Vasant Vihar

A horrific hit-and-run incident unfolded in Delhi’s affluent Vasant Vihar neighborhood in the early hours of July 9, 2025. At approximately 1:45 AM, a drunk driver behind the wheel of an Audi crashed into five homeless individuals sleeping on the footpath near Shiva Camp, leaving them injured.

Two Couples and an 8-Year-Old Child Among the Victims

The victims, identified as Ladhi (40), her 8-year-old daughter Bimla, husband Sabami alias Chirma (45), Ram Chander (45), and his wife Narayani (35), are all residents of Rajasthan. They were sleeping on the pavement when the speeding Audi struck them.

Driver Arrested, Medical Reports Confirm Intoxication

Police swiftly apprehended the driver, identified as Utsav Shekhar, at the scene. Medical reports confirmed his inebriated state. The injured victims are receiving medical care.
