Tharoor’s Criticism of the Emergency

Tharoor’s statement, recalling how freedoms were curtailed in 1975, has drawn attention. He emphasized, however, that present-day India is vastly different. This isn’t the first time Tharoor has caused a stir within Congress. His previous praise for certain policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also generated internal debate.

Tharoor’s Role in Operation Sindhura

Following Operation Sindhura, Tharoor was part of a parliamentary delegation tasked with presenting India’s perspective on the international stage. His vocal support for the Modi government’s stance during this period further fueled discussion about his position within the Congress party.
