Odisha Student Self-Immolates After Alleged Sexual Harassment by HOD

A heartbreaking incident has come to light in Balasore, Odisha, where a college student set herself on fire after allegedly facing months of sexual harassment by the Head of the Department (HOD). The student is currently undergoing treatment at AIIMS Bhubaneswar.

Brother Reveals Shocking Details of Harassment

In an exclusive interview, the victim’s brother shared harrowing details of the alleged harassment. He stated, “My sister had been enduring harassment from the HOD for six months. She confided in our mother about the ordeal. Fifteen days ago, my father asked me to visit her college as she was facing some problems. When I arrived, a protest was already underway regarding the issue. It was then that I learned the full extent of the HOD’s actions towards my sister.”

Demand for Justice and Fair Investigation

The brother has demanded a fair and impartial investigation into the matter. He directly appealed to the college principal to ensure a thorough examination of the events leading up to his sister’s drastic step. He emphasized the need for justice and accountability in this case.
