Odisha Student Sets Herself Ablaze Following Alleged Sexual Harassment by Professor

A tragic incident unfolded at a college in Balasore, Odisha, where a student resorted to self-immolation after allegedly enduring relentless sexual harassment from her head of department. The accused professor allegedly pressured the student for sexual favors and threatened to jeopardize her academic future if she refused to comply.

Student Suffers Severe Burns, Bystander Also Injured

The student suffered 95% burn injuries and is currently fighting for her life. A fellow student who bravely attempted to extinguish the flames also sustained significant burns, estimated at 70%, while trying to save her.

Investigation Underway as Authorities Address the Tragedy

Authorities are currently investigating the incident and gathering evidence related to the allegations of sexual harassment.
