Near Drowning Averted: NDRF Rescues 3 Pilgrims in Haridwar’s Ganga River

A potential tragedy was averted during the ongoing Kanwar Yatra in Haridwar. Three pilgrims (Kanwariyas), who were bathing in the Ganga river before commencing their pilgrimage, were swept away by the strong current.

Swift Action by NDRF Prevents Tragedy

The incident highlights the risks faced by devotees who may underestimate the river’s flow, especially during the monsoon season. Fortunately, the Haridwar district administration had deployed SDRF, Jal Police, and PAC personnel along the ghats (river banks). These vigilant teams constantly monitor the river for such incidents.

Pilgrims Safe After Timely Rescue

The swift response of the NDRF team proved crucial. Noticing the pilgrims struggling in the current, they immediately leaped into the Ganga and successfully rescued all three individuals.
