Kanwar Yatra 2024: Etah Bans Onion, Garlic at Eateries Along Pilgrimage Route

In a move to respect the religious observances of the Kanwar Yatra pilgrims, authorities in Etah, Uttar Pradesh have banned the use of onion and garlic at food stalls and restaurants (dhabas) situated along the pilgrimage route.

SSP Leads Flag March, Enforces Restrictions

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shyam Narayan Singh personally led a flag march along the Kanwar Yatra route to ensure the effective implementation of the ban. He directed eatery owners to adhere to the restrictions throughout the pilgrimage.

A Show of Respect for Religious Sentiments

This decision comes as a gesture of respect for the traditional practices followed by Kanwar Yatra devotees, many of whom abstain from consuming onion and garlic during the pilgrimage.
