Shahrukh Pathan, Alleged Mukhtar Gang Member, Killed in UP Encounter
In a dramatic confrontation, Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) officers killed Shahrukh Pathan during a police encounter in Muzaffarnagar. Pathan was allegedly a key operative of the notorious Mukhtar Ansari gang, known for its criminal activities across the state.
Pathan’s Alleged Connection to Mukhtar Ansari’s Network
The now-deceased Mukhtar Ansari, a prominent figure in Uttar Pradesh’s criminal underworld, had two key lieutenants managing his operations: Munna Bajrangi, overseeing activities in Purvanchal (Eastern UP), and Sanjeev Maheshwari, alias Jeeva, handling the western region. Both Bajrangi and Maheshwari, along with Ansari himself, are now deceased – Ansari died in prison, Jeeva was killed in a Lucknow court, and Bajrangi was murdered in Baghpat jail. Shahrukh Pathan was reportedly a close associate of Jeeva, and his death marks another blow to the remnants of the Ansari gang.
Pathan Faced Numerous Criminal Charges
Police records indicate that Pathan faced at least 12 criminal cases, including murder, robbery, and assault.
