Building Collapse in Delhi’s Welcome Area: A Community in Crisis

Tragedy struck Delhi’s Welcome area on Saturday morning as a four-story building suddenly collapsed, trapping an unknown number of residents beneath the rubble. The incident occurred around 7 am, sending shockwaves through the neighborhood.

Rescue Efforts Underway: Race Against Time

Emergency responders rushed to the scene and immediately began a frantic rescue operation. Working tirelessly against the clock, they carefully sifted through the debris, searching for survivors. The situation remains tense as rescuers race against time to locate those still trapped.

Eight Rescued: A Glimmer of Hope Amidst Despair

So far, eight people have been pulled from the wreckage, offering a glimmer of hope amidst the devastation. Among those rescued is a 14-month-old boy named Ahmad, whose survival is a testament to the rescuers’ determination. Four men and three women were also pulled from the rubble. While the adults were transported to JPC Hospital, little Ahmad is receiving care at GTB Hospital.

According to local residents, a family of ten lived in the building, raising concerns about the number of people still potentially trapped.

The cause of the collapse remains under investigation. Authorities will be working diligently to determine what led to this devastating incident.
