Air India Flight 171: A Heartbreaking Tragedy in Ahmedabad

The afternoon of June 12th witnessed a devastating aviation tragedy as Air India Flight 171, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, crashed mere seconds after departing from Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. The flight, en route to London Gatwick, took off at 1:39 pm and within 32 seconds met its tragic end, impacting a medical hostel near the airport.

Loss of Life and Sole Survivor

The crash resulted in the heartbreaking loss of 260 lives – 241 passengers and crew aboard the flight, and 19 individuals on the ground. Amidst the immense devastation, a single ray of hope emerged: a British-Indian man seated in row 11A miraculously survived the crash.

First Fatal Boeing 787 Crash
