Shubhanshu Shukla’s Incredible Journey: 230 Sunrises and Millions of Miles on the ISS

Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla, along with the Axiom-4 crew, has completed a remarkable two-week mission aboard the International Space Station (ISS). Their journey, filled with breathtaking views and scientific endeavors, included witnessing 230 sunrises and traveling nearly 10 million kilometers (approximately 6.2 million miles).

A Two-Week Odyssey in Space

Imagine waking up to a new sunrise every 90 minutes – that was the reality for Shubhanshu Shukla and his fellow astronauts. Over the course of their two-week stay on the orbiting laboratory, they experienced the awe-inspiring sight of 230 sunrises. This unique perspective comes with the territory of orbiting the Earth at an incredible speed.

Millions of Miles Traveled

Besides witnessing countless sunrises, the Axiom-4 crew also covered an immense distance. Traveling at approximately 28,000 kilometers per hour (17,500 miles per hour), they racked up nearly 10 million kilometers (6.2 million miles) in just two weeks. This incredible feat highlights the speed and scale of space travel.
