IAF Jaguar Crash in Rajasthan Claims Two Pilots
Tragedy struck the Indian Air Force (IAF) once again as a Jaguar trainer aircraft crashed near Churu, Rajasthan on Wednesday afternoon, claiming the lives of two pilots. The aircraft went down in an agricultural field in Bhanoda village around 1:25 pm, leaving the local community shocked and saddened.
Third Jaguar Crash Since March Raises Concerns
The IAF confirmed the incident on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “An IAF Jaguar Trainer aircraft met with an accident during a routine training mission and crashed near Churu in Rajasthan today. Both pilots sustained fatal injuries in the accident. No damage to any civil property has been reported.” This marks the third Jaguar crash since March, raising concerns about the aging fleet and prompting calls for a thorough investigation into the cause of these recurring accidents.
History of Jaguars in the IAF
The IAF inducted Jaguar aircraft into its fleet in the 1970s. While they have served the nation for decades, the recent spate of crashes underscores the need for modernization and enhanced safety measures to prevent further loss of life.
