Russian Family Found Living in Gokarna Cave

In a surprising discovery, a Russian mother and her two young daughters were found living in a remote cave atop the Ramatirtha Hill in Gokarna, Karnataka, India. The family’s makeshift home was located in a dangerous, landslide-prone area, raising concerns for their safety.

Discovery by Gokarna Police

On July 9th, around 5:00 PM, Inspector Sridhar SR and his team from the Gokarna Police Station were conducting a routine patrol of the Ramatirtha Hill area, primarily to ensure the safety of tourists. While carefully navigating the dense forest, they noticed movement near a secluded cave. Their investigation led to a remarkable discovery: 40-year-old Nina Kutina, a Russian national, was residing inside the cave with her two daughters, 6-year-old Prema and 4-year-old Ama.

A Precarious Situation

The cave, located in a hazardous zone susceptible to landslides, posed significant risks to the family’s well-being.
