Ahmedabad Air India Plane Crash: Engines Failed Seconds After Takeoff

A preliminary investigation report has revealed alarming details about the Air India Dreamliner crash that occurred in Ahmedabad on June 12th. The report confirms that both engines of the Boeing 787-8 aircraft shut down mid-air just seconds after takeoff.

Fuel Cutoff Switches Triggered Engine Failure

The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) prepared the report, which states that the fuel cutoff switches, responsible for controlling the fuel supply to the engines, flipped from ‘RUN’ to ‘CUTOFF’ within a second of each other. This sudden interruption in fuel supply resulted in both engines failing.
