2,500 Myanmar Refugees Return Home as Peace Returns to the Border

Following the recent violent clashes between the Chinland Defence Force-Hualngoram (CDF-Hualngoram) and the Chin National Defence Force (CNDF) on July 5th, approximately 2,500 Myanmar nationals sought refuge in the neighboring Indian state of Mizoram. As tensions ease and a sense of stability returns, these refugees are now making their way back home.

Hopes Rise as Families Return to Myanmar

The return of these 2,500 individuals signals a hopeful shift in the volatile situation along the Myanmar-India border. Their flight to Mizoram underscored the human cost of the conflict between the CDF-Hualngoram and CNDF. Now, with the decrease in violence, these families can finally return to their communities and rebuild their lives.

Mizoram Provides Crucial Support During Displacement

During their displacement, the people of Mizoram extended crucial support to the Myanmar refugees, offering shelter and aid. This humanitarian effort highlights the strong bonds between the communities on both sides of the border.
