10 Jalisco Cartel Members Sentenced to 141 Years for Forced Recruitment

Ten members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), one of Mexico’s most powerful and violent criminal organizations, have been sentenced to a combined 141 years in prison.

Ranch Served as Cartel’s Forced Recruitment Center

The convictions stem from the cartel’s operation of a ranch used as a forced recruitment center. Authorities discovered the ranch and arrested the individuals, uncovering the CJNG’s brutal tactics in bolstering their ranks.

Sentences Mark a Blow Against Cartel Violence

This significant prison sentence represents a victory for Mexican law enforcement in their ongoing battle against organized crime and the CJNG’s reign of terror. The disruption of this forced recruitment operation will hopefully hinder the cartel’s growth and reduce its capacity for violence.
